Looking for the best things to do in Quebec? Look no further! We'll show you the best things to do in Montreal, Quebec City, Mont Tremblant, and more~ Québec was the fifth province we visited on our 150-day road trip across Canada and in this video, we share some of the best things to do in Quebec! Learn more about Quebec at 🤍 Québec is a big province full of history, nature, and diverse cities. As Canada’s only primarily French-speaking province, it’s quite different than the rest of the country. Also, due to the complicated history between the English and the French, Québec has always strived to create and keep its own identity, which is quite apparent in the pride they have for their own flag and other cultural practices. We learned so much during our time in the province and had a lot of fun exploring the cities and the surrounding nature. Looking for music to use in your own videos? We use ARTLIST. Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special? We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world. In this video, I discuss why LIVING in Quebec sucks! The Province of Quebec is a horrible place to live. As I mention several times in this video, living in Quebec sucks! There are many things about Quebec that are horrible but in this video I focus primarily on how Quebec language laws suck, how Quebec weather sucks, how Quebec taxes suck and a few other issues. It is not an ideal province to live in, especially when compared to more prosperous provinces like Alberta and Ontario. Are you thinking of moving to Quebec? Has living in Quebec been on your mind? Heck, are you even looking to study in Quebec? If so, I highly recommend you watch this video before deciding to move there. I was born and raised in Quebec and I lived the first 25 years of my life in that province. I know what I'm talking about! In this video, I refer to personal experiences as well as research that I have done on the city. I am a Quebecer however I moved out of that province and I can safely say that leaving Quebec was one of the best decisions I ever made in my entire life. In short, do not move to Quebec! And if you live there, get out of Quebec while you still can! Like. Comment. Subscribe. It help me know what content to release, and it helps YOU know when I come out with new videos. 10 THINGS TO DO IN QUEBEC CITY | Travel Guide

If you want to experience a Canadian city with a bit of French flair, then you need to visit Quebec City. Situated on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, this is a town with good looks and a big heart. We only had a day and a half there, but that was enough time to wander the cobbled streets, catch some street performances, and visit many of the top attractions. The following is a little video of our time in historic Quebec City, Canada highlighting the top 10 things to do and see in this top attractions travel guide: 10 THINGS TO DO IN QUEBEC CITY | Travel Guide 1) Plains of Abraham We are no standing on the Plains of Abraham and this is the location where the battle between the English and the French was fought. This was the battle that ultimately determined the fate of North America. This battle was part of the Seven Years' War and it would be the deciding factor over the fate of New France, influencing the later creation of Canada. 2) Citadelle We just finished visiting the Citadelle and if you get the chance I would suggest you try to be here by ten in the morning. That is when they have the changing of the guard ceremony and it is a lot of fun to watch. They even have a pet goat that takes part so it really is a lot of fun. The Citadelle is the largest British fortress in North America. 3) Chateau Frontenac Now we're visiting Chateau Frontenac, one of the most famous hotels in all of Canada. It is a stunner. It is just absolutely beautiful. We're trying to capture it from different vantage points. The hotel was designed by American architect Bruce Price. It was one of many "château" style hotels built for the Canadian Pacific Railway company with the goal of promoting luxury tourism. Today, a night at the Frontenac starts at $379 dollars. 4) Terrasse Dufferin This boardwalk that we are currently standing on is called Terrasse Dufferin and it is a great place for a stroll. You can catch some street performers, eat some ice cream and you also get some great views of the river below. The promenade sits right outside the Chateau Frontenac and it is 425 meters in length. You can also catch a funicular nearby which takes you to the Old Lower Town. 5) Quartier Petit Champlain Petit Champlain is a neighbourhood located in the Old Lower Town. It is quite picturesque, especially when viewed from the Breakneck Stairs. The narrow cobbled streets are lined with small shops and cafes. It's a really fun neighbourhood to explore with a camera in hand. 6) Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec The Basilica Notre Dame de Quebec is the oldest church in the Americas north of Mexico. If you want to get a sneak peek at the crypt, you'll have to sign up for a guided tour. 7) Rue St. Paul We're now walking along Rue St. Paul and this is a great place to browse for antiques and you can buy some souvenirs. Just don't leave your visit to the end of the day because you may find that a lot of the shops have closed. 8) Museum of Civilization The Museum of Civilization is a great place to learn about the Aboriginal peoples of Quebec. 9) Port of Quebec We're here now in the Port Area. This is a great place to take a ferry. A lot of people come here to exercise, to fish and just to enjoy the views of the St. Lawrence river. It is a really relaxing place. The Port of Quebec is the oldest in all of Canada and it played an important role in developing the region. Today you'll find that cruises have replaced much of the former freight traffic. 10) Catch a Street Performance And lastly, you can't come to Quebec City and not catch a street performance! The city celebrates its performers and you'll often find acts taking place in the town square and parks. Grab a seat for some live entertainment and don't forget to leave a tip at the end! In the first day of filming we really forgot that we were on an American continent. This city feels so European that we felt like we were filming in France. In October 1995, Quebec narrowly voted against independence from Canada. A quarter of a century later, we rarely hear about its quest for secession. So, does Quebec still want independence? In the decades and centuries that followed, it retained its strong French-speaking identity, even as Canada became increasingly Anglophone. But starting in the 1960s, the province began its quest for independence. This led to two referendums, in 1980 and 1995. Although both saw independence defeated, in the second vote independence was defeated by the narrowest of margins. But a quarter of a century later, where do things stand now? The Lower Town, which is also called Basse-Ville, on the other hand, is where the original settlement was built and is known for its scenic narrow streets and historic stone buildings. Intensely proud and protective of its French-Canadian identity and language, Quebec City serves as the heart and soul of the province that shares its name. Stories by survivors of residential schools: 🤍 🤍 🤍 🤍 "Québec: A discourse on Nations" is a three-part documentary series exploring the concept of nationhood through the example of the Canadian province of Québec. In these videos we aim to board the many phases and evolutions of French Canadian identity, while also exploring the history of Canada with a focus on this region of the country. In this second episode we explore the aftermath of La Conquête the conquest of New France. We'll cover the challenges of British North American imperialism, and how the evolving vision of Britain, and the later Dominion of Canada, dealt with the otherness of French Canadians through the XIX century. We'll also explore the unique role of the Catholic Church in society and statecraft: boarding ultramontanism, and eventually, clerical nationalism. Our objective with this video will be to lay out the emergence of a Québécois identity as a consequence of forces, to later see how this identity was later appropriated and reinvented as a consequence of people and decisions during the XXth century.
